| Waverly Hills |

Just recently I visited Waverly Hills and there are no words to describe what I felt driving up the driveway. The place is hidden behind trees as you make your way up this incredibly dark eerie road, and then all of a sudden as you get closer you start to see the building grow. Nothing prepares you for what you see as soon as the trees clear away. There stands this building, this massive building that owns itself. Just incredible and breathtaking (regardless if it is rundown or not). If anyone knows the history of Waverly Hills then you will feel the pain when you get out of your car. I wasn’t scared at first just very nervous at what to expect when I walk inside. Our tour guide Scott was great his approach with us was very casual and informative. I felt like he really knew what he was talking about and he didn’t need to build anyone’s anticipation of what our night would look like. The building did that itself. Like I said early the building owns itself. Once inside we were in darkness a few flashlights on but just the right amount of darkness for me. Scott walk us through the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors giving us as much detailed info he could. I was already nervous but this building took over me when I came inside. I had never been more excited to be in one of the most haunted places around. Scott explained all the hauntings that have taken place within Waverly, from a little boy bouncing his ball to a homeless man murder along with his dog. But it wasn’t until we stepped up to the 4th floor that I became scared. Scott explained he wanted no cameras, no flashlight he wanted things to be as dark as possible when entering the 4th floor. He explained that if we would like to experience something than this is the floor to be. We all went in but not before Scott could show us the door that we were about to enter with all the hatchet marks on it. Apparently 3 young boys were trespassing and made their way up to the 4th floor only to find they couldn’t get out. By the time security had got there they had wet themselves and were so scared they used the hatchet they used to break in to break out. There really was hatchet marks on the door, and with that we went into the 4th floor. My husband was standing beside me and we both had no idea what to expect. I freak when I heard this sound coming from down the hall (eventually I learned that it was just water dripping) and that was only the first 2 mins on the floor. There is apparently an aggressive spirit called big black that stays on that floor, he punches, hits and pushes whoever he wants. As Scott is explaining this story my husband and I hear this rushing sound like a leaf blowing across cement, but there was no leave and no wind. You may think that doesn’t sound like much but it came fast and ended right in front of my husband. He jumped and I tried to play it off like it was just a leaf, but like I said before there was no leaves to be found and no wind. The floor was incredible but I wanted to leave that floor faster than anything. I was done with the 4th floor. Im not sure if I mentioned it but while on the 5th floor I heard humming. A very nice humming sound like a mother putting her child to sleep, and that is when Scott mentioned that the children were kept up here and would play with the nurses. It was the first haunted tour of this kind that I had ever done but I would do it again and again. My husband and I sat in the parking lot after the tour and didn’t want to leave. We will definitely be going back to Waverly Hills Sanatorium. It owns us now too. |
