Winnipeg, Manitoba
The Walker Theater was built in 1906 as a legitimate theater holding up to 2030 seats. It wasn’t until 1907 that the theater was fully completed and ready to house all kinds of talent. The theater was named after its owner Corliss Powers Walker. Walker considered himself to be a powerhouse in the theater industry and had built several theaters along the pacific railway route. The theater was built along the designs of the famous auditorium theater in Chicago and was claimed to be the first fireproof theater in Canada. Walker owned and operated the theater up until 1933 with his wife Harriet Walker. During the run of the theatre there were a few talented actors and actresses that graced the stage one not forgotten couple is Laurence Irving and Mabel Hackney. Both dying in 1914 from a drowning, to this day they can be heard performing on stage. Investigators have caught mysterous banging noises and voices on tape recorders. Doors have been heard opening and closing, also mysterious clapping and steel doors closing on their own even if they weigh in at least a couple 100 pounds.

Winnipeg, Manitoba
Fort Garry Hotel is considered to be one of the first hotels built in Winnipeg. Built in 1913 by the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway the hotel became a fixture for Winnipeg. After falling into a heavy debt the doors were almost shut in the early 1990’s, however with campaigning and restorations and the support of the community the hotel was brought back to life and is doing well. For years employees and visitors have shared their personal encounters of unusual experiences they have had. Bizarre light displays, lights turning on and off and the famous room 202 is said to have a visitor in it almost every night whether it be from the living or beyond. The visitor from beyond is that of a lady in a long white ball gown perhaps that of a frequent visitor to the hotel in the early years who fell in love with the hotel and wants to spend the rest of her time there. Other stories claim that it is a lady who committed suicide in room 202 and has yet to realize she is dead so she continues to wander around the room, often climbing in bed with the guest, or seen crying in the corner. Whatever the case may be prepared for some kind of experience at Fort Garry it is a beautiful hotel.
